The 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival kicked off with the opening ceremony being broadcast live by the China media group with 4k ultra-high definition technology and 5G network for the first time.
The event has attracted a total of 3,964 films from 112 countries and regions.
Fifteen nominated films will contend for this year’s golden goblet awards. The 15 films will be evaluated by a jury led by Turkish Director Nuri Bilge Ceylon, and the awards are expected to be unveiled on June 24.
The 10-day festival consists of activities including the opening ceremony, the belt and road film week, as well as forums and exhibitions concerning the movie industry to promote international communication and inspire innovation in the industry.
