Dozens of people laid candles and flowers Barcelona’s famous Las Ramblas boulevard on Friday night to pay tribute to the 14 people who lost their lives and the many injured when a van plowed into crowds.

Many mourners took their time at the memorials set up at one of Barcelona’s most famous landmarks, which was noisy and busy as usual again.

One woman who visited the memorial said life goes on and people shouldn’t avoid going about their daily lives.

A man at the memorial admitted he was scared and nervous to visit the site, but felt it was important to come together with other people in Barcelona.
