Supreme Court disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Panama Papers case.
The five-member bench, headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, in a unanimous decision held Nawaz Sharif in violation of article 62(1)(f).

The court directed National Accountability Bureau to file references against Nawaz Sharif, his children, son in law Captain retried Safdar and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in accountability court within six weeks.

Supreme Court also issued directions for the accountability court to decide on the reference within six months.

The decision of the Apex Court renders Nawaz Sharif disqualified for life while directing Election Commission to immediately de-notify him as parliamentarian.

The bench in its judgment, requested the Chief Justice to appoint a Judge of the Supreme Court to oversee all these matters.

Supreme Court asked the President of Pakistan to take immediate steps to ensure continuity of the democratic set up.
