Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam has said that soon Attock will have a state of the art building of the regional campus of AIOU(Allama Iqbal Open University) which will benefit more than 14000 students . He said this while visiting the site where this campus will be built . On the occassion Vice Chancellor AIOU Dr Zia ul Qayyum , DC Attock Ali Anan Qamar , RD AIOU Regional Campus Mianwali Amanullah Malik , Asstt RD AIOU Regional Campus Attock Aftab Ahmad Awan , Deputy Director Public Relations Attock Shahzad Niaz Khokhar and other officers were also present .
Malik Amin Aslam said that Punjab govt has allocated 4 kanal land for this regional campus and the cost of the building will be paid by AIOU and soon its construction will be started . He said , this is a great gift for the young lot of the Attock district and its adjoining districts as well. While talking about tree plantation in the country , he said that so for 500 million saplings have been planted and soon the target of one billion saplings will be achieved . He said , in Attock , 135000 plants are being planted while 400 Chinar trees will be planted in a park over the land owned by Pak Railways .
Vice Chancellor AIOU Dr Zia ul Qayyum while giving details about the proposed building of regional campus said that the this regional campus will have state of the art building and facilities where students will have all type of facilities . He said that soon university will release funds for this campus and with in next few months its construction will be started . He said , AIOU is providing education to 1.4 million students through distant learning at a very nominal fee structure and students having financial constraints are given special concession so that they may keep continue their studies .
