The district administration has established field hospital for Coronavirus COVID-19 patients at the site of proposed mother and children care hospital in Attock to isolate and treat confirmed patients in a safe and secure environment. The field hospital is able to accommodate 70 patients. The provincial Minister for Revenue Col (retd) Mohammad Anwar Khan on Monday visited the filed hospital. Member Punjab Assembly Jamshaid Altaf, Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qamamr, Assistant Commissioner Jannat Hussain Nekokara , CEO Health Dr Sohail Ejaz and officials of the health department accompanied the minister to the field hospital for the quarantine facility for the coronavirus COVID-19 patients.

On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qamar while briefing the Minister said that the suspected patients coming to the quarantine center at District Headquarters Hospital will be shifted to the field hospital after confirmation of the infection in a safe and secure environment. “We have made necessary arrangements here to meet any emergency situation.” He added. Speaking on this occasion, Provincial Minister for Revenue Col (retd) Mohammad Anwar Khan praised health workers for performing duties on the front-line to deal with the coronavirus outbreak and said they were real heroes of the society.

He said the coronavirus outbreak was a major challenge for the entire nation, and the provincial government under Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was struggling hard to cope with this situation by utilizing all the available logistic and human resources. He added that in order to prevent our population and to minimize the threat from COVID 19, we must implement in true spirit the guidelines and precautionary measures drawn by the health experts besides increasing the test capacity up to at least three thousand per day. Mr Khan said that social distancing is the key to prevention

Earlier, in a meeting held at Deputy Commissioner office , CEO Health Dr Sohail Ijaz gave a complete update to the Minister on the COVID-19 cases including the measures being taken to combat the spread of the virus. He was informed that local administration has established 23 quarantine centers to handle any untoward situation.


Later, the minister visited different Ehsaas Kafalat Programme Centres established in various parts of district for distribution of cash under under Ehsaas Program. He reviewed the arrangements and facilities provided to the women turning up to receive cash from the government. He inquired from various women about facilities, their reservations and problems and found ambiguity in distribution. Speaking on this occasion, the Minister said that till Monday a sum of Rs 40 million has been distributed among the deserving people across the district under this program. Mr Khan said the daily wage earners affected by the pandemic were the government’s top priority.

He said that Prime Minister has earmarked 144 billion rupees to help the deserving families under Ehsaas Program. He said in the first phase 12,000 rupees per family are being distributed among 12 million deserving families beyond political affiliation. He said in the next phase, cash assistance of 12,000 rupees will be distributed among 2.5 million families, in cooperation with the Punjab Government, under Insaf Relief Package. He said that volunteers of Corona Relief Tiger Force will provide ration to the deserving families silently and without hurting their self-respect.
