About 2,000 people packed a memorial in Toronto to remember the victims of a Ukrainian airliner shot down in Iran in a disaster that killed 57 Canadians, mainly of Iranian descent.

In Toronto, mourners packed into a university hall voicing grief and rage.

Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland told the mourners that as Canadians are mourning together, so too would they “seek and get” justice for the lives lost in Iran.
