Opener Abid Ali creates history as he becomes the only player in men’s cricket to post ton on both of his one-day and test debuts as first Pindi Test against Sri Lanka ends in a draw.

Pakistan declared their first innings on 252 for 2 on the final day drawing match to close. Abid, 32, had earlier scored a century on his 50-over debut against Australia in Dubai earlier this year and replicated the feat in five-day cricket as he guides Pakistan towards a draw in the rain-affected inaugural Test – the first in the country in a decade.

The opening batsman reached his ton off 183 balls with 11 hits to the fence. He received good support from captain Azhar Ali 36 and later from Babar Azam, who also scored century.

Earlier, rain and bad light wiped out most of the play during four days of the test in Pindi making draw the most likely outcome.
