Russian President Vladimir Putin has said peace in Syria can be reached only by political and diplomatic efforts.

He was addressing a joint news conference with leaders of Turkey and Iran after three-way talks in Ankara.

Putin said the list of the Syrian Constitutional Committee has been fully agreed and said that Russia is ready to support the Syrian army in targeted actions on “terrorists in Syria”.

Russian leader also emphasized that all foreign troops should be pulled out from Syria eventually, after peace is reached in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that up to three million Syrian refugees can return to a planned “safe zone” in northern Syria if it is extended from Turkey’s border to Deir Al Zor and Raqqa, after talks with his Russian and Iranian counterparts.
