Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said this after inaugurating Tree Plantation Campaign on the bank of 52 km long Ghazi Barotha Power Channel in Ghorghushti . On the occasion Federal Minister for Power Omer Ayub , Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Wauda and other high officials were also present. Malik Amin said that under the program 10 lac plants will be planted on the spoil bank over an area of 16000 kanal in the next four years and said that this land has been provided by Wapda for which an MOUNhas been signed today.

He said , environment park Ghorghushti will be renovated to provide healthy entertainment to the people of this area . Malik Amin said , more than 30 water filtration plants will be installed in Hazro to provide clean drinking water to the people while efforts are  being  made to set up an industrial zone in this area. He said , beside this provision of suigas and electricity facility to different areas is also being ensured while Insaf Health cards will be given to 2 lac people of the Attock district. He emphasized upon the people to support Prime Minister Imran Lhan , who can take the country out of crises and said that Imran Khan is the only leader who sent the corrupt behind the bars who looted this country.

Fedral Minister for Power Omer Ayub while addressing the gathering said that during the last eight months , we have controlled load sheding by controlling stealing of electricity worth Rs 84 billion while increased revenue up-to Rs 121 billion. He said , to overcome shortage of electricity , solar panels will also be used at a vast level. He also announced provision of electricity facility to village Kani located in farflung area of district Attock. Minister for Water Resources Faisal Wauda also addressed the gathering.: It is worth mentioning that GBHP holds the record for the biggest concrete channel in the world. It is 51.90 km long with a concrete lining and design flow up-to 1600 cunnecs at a water depth of 9m.

This channel intercepts 53 nullahs(natural drains) of which 27 major nullahs have been passed over the channel by providing super passage . In addition to 34 long bridges for both Islamabad Peshawar motorway and GT Road , there are twelve pedestrian crossings over the power  channel . The main railway line Pindi to Peshawar also crosses the power channel .
