Chairman Public Accounts Committee Punjab Syed Yawar Bokhari has said that Punjab govt is taking revolutionary steps for the provision of health facilities to the people nearest to their door steps specially those living in far flung areas and for the purpose billion of rupees are being spent. He said this while addressing a press conference in Attock. On the occasion MPA Malik Jamshed Altaf , CEO Health Dr Sohail Ejaz , DHO Dr Mohsin Ashraf , Dr Asif Niazi were also present. Yawar Bokhari said that as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan , special health package has been introduced for eight district of Punjab which include Attock , Rajanpur , DG Khan , Kasur , Lodhran , Jhang , Chiniot and Mianwali and work on this package is in full swing . He said , for this package Rs 3 billion have been allocated and the share of Attock district is Rs 420 million.
He said , these districts have been selected keeping in view the indicators of Multiple Indicators Survey 2018 and said that under this package 2000 job opportunities have been created which include 22 doctors , 24 nurses , 4 dispensers , 92 LHVs , 113 security guards . He said , most of the BHUs are now working round the clock , doctors have been inducted in all the health units while availability of medicines is being ensured. He said that Mother and Child Health Care Hospital will be built in Attock at the cost of more than 3 billion rupees , DHQ Hospital is being extended with 200 more beds while nursing school and medical college will also be built in Attock.
He said that in Attock district health cards will be given to 4 lac people gradually in a transparent manner and said that all the govt employees will be given health cards also irrespective of their grades. CEO Health Dr Sohail Ejaz while giving briefing to journalists said that medicines worth Rs 160 million had been provided to all the basic and rural health units and availability of anti rabies vaccine in THQ Hospitals has also been ensured. He said that to store the medicines at proper temperature a warehouse is under construction at the cost of Rs 18 million. He said that after a long time two gynecologists have been appointed for THQ Hospital Jand . Dr Sohail said that rules for local purchase of medicines will be implemented in letter and spirit to give relief to the patients. CEO Health said that all the medical equipment needed for DHQ Hospital and other health units will also be procured and said that in 40 basic health units of the district round the clock health services will be available
