Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang met with heads of state from the Philippines, Kenyan, Mongolia, Myanmar and Hungary , one day before the second belt and road forum in Beijing.
Xi first met with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta respectively for bilateral talks before hosting an official welcome ceremony for Mongolian President at the Great Hall of The People.
Premier Li met with Myanmar’s Aung San Suu Kyi for talks and oversaw the signing of several memorandums of understanding for belt and road infrastructural projects and cooperation.
Li later met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban for talks and witnessed the signing of several memorandums of understanding on economic cooperation.
A total of 37 foreign leaders are due to attend the April 25-27 summit.
