Sri Lankan authorities have ordered a state of emergency to be introduced from midnight following the deadly Easter attacks.

The President Office in a statement referring to the army, navy and air force said the special measures are being brought in to allow the police and the three forces to ensure public security.

The statement also said the intelligence reports indicate that foreign terrorist organizations are behind the local terrorists.

Therefore, the President is to seek the assistance of the foreign countries.

The Sri Lankan government believes a local militant group called the national Thowheeth Jama’ath was behind the deadly suicide bomb attacks.

But, government spokesman Rajitha Senaratne said we don’t see that only a small organization in this country can do all that.

Government is now investigating the international support for them, and their other links, how they produced the suicide bombers here, and how they produced bombs like this.
