BC Assessment and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1767 (CUPE Local 1767) have reached a tentative agreement under government’s Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate, which focuses on improving services for people and ensuring fair and affordable compensation.
The tentative agreement covers approximately 700 people working in appraisals, assessment administration, property inventory collection, communications, finance, information technology and data services in 16 locations throughout the province, including Victoria’s head office.
Further details about the agreement will be available once the ratification process for BC Assessment’s board and CUPE Local 1767 members is completed.
The Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate supports government’s commitment to improve the services people count on, make life more affordable and invest in sustainable economic growth. The mandate is consistent with B.C.’s commitment to balanced budgets and sound fiscal management, and provides parties with the ability to negotiate conditional and modest funding to drive tangible service improvements for people in B.C.
More than 200,000 unionized public-sector employees are covered by tentative or ratified agreements reached under B.C.’s Sustainable Negotiating Mandate.
