United States has Commended Pakistan’s efforts and cooperation for peace process in Afghanistan and said Pakistan will always be a country of importance for it.

While testifying before the senate armed services committee, the Commander of U.S. Central Command General Joseph Votel said United States looks to Pakistan among others to play a constructive role in achieving peace in Afghanistan and the greater South Asian region.

The CENTCOM Chief also identified uncertain political situation in Afghanistan as the greatest risk to stability in the region.

He said Pakistan’s equities are acknowledged and addressed in any future agreement for resolving the 17-year-old afghan conflict.
