Pakistan Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced that Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan Chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi has been charged with treason and terrorism at Lahore’s Civil Lines Police Station.
Briefing the newsmen regarding last week’s countrywide crackdown against TLP leaders and workers in Islamabad, the Information Minister said, another top leader of the party, Pir Afzal Qadri, has been charged with treason and terrorism in Gujrat.
The minister announced that Inayatul Haq Shah has been charged under treason and anti-terrorism laws in Rawalpindi and Hafiz Farooqul Hassan also been charged under similar laws.
Fawad Hussain stated that Rizvi along with two thousand eight hundred ninety nine party workers were taken into protective custody by police as law enforcement agencies launched a massive crackdown against Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan and Tehreek-i-Labbaik Ya Rasool allah.
He said, 139 workers of both parties were taken into custody from Sindh and 126 from Islamabad.
