The Annual Ceremony to change Ghilaf-e-Kaaba was held at Masjid Al-Haram in Saudi Arabia where Millions of Muslims have gathered to perform Hajj.

The covering Cloth of the Kaaba, known as Kiswa, is changed on 9th Zilhaj every year on the day of Arafat.Governor Makkah Khalid Faisal and Imam Kaaba Abdul Rehman Sudais participated in the ceremony of changing Ghilaf-e-Kaaba.

The new Ghilaf-e-Kaaba has been prepared at a cost of 20 Million Saudi Riyals. The verses of the Holy Quran inscribed on the cover. At least 150 Kilograms Pure Gold, 100 Kilograms Silver and 670 Kilograms Silk has been used in making the cover.

It comprises of 47 parts with each one of 14 meters Length and 95 cm Width.
The Old Ghilaf is cut into pieces and gifted to Foreign Dignitaries after change Ceremony.
200 weaving experts prepared Ghilaf-e-Kaaba in Dar-ul-Kiswa Factory.
