Russian president Vladimir Putin has said he was ready to meet his us counterpart Donald Trump as soon as Washington was ready, adding Vienna could be a possible venue for such a summit.

Putin told reporters in the Chinese city of Qingdao that as soon as the American side is ready this meeting would take place.Putin said the US President himself repeatedly said that he would consider such a meeting helpful.

He said he did not discuss a possible meeting venue with trump but “many” countries including Austria were keen to help in organizing such a summit.

The Russian president also dismissed criticism by the group of 7 nations as “creative babbling” and said it was time to start cooperating again.

He said the G7 countries had “again” failed to provide any evidence that Russia was behind the poisoning of a former double agent and his daughter in Britain in March.

G7 leaders demanded Saturday that Russia stop what they described as attempts to undermine democracy and support for the Syrian regime as they closed the door on Moscow’s readmission to the club.
