Commander US Central Command General Joseph Votel have said success in Afghanistan and South Asia will require a strong relationship and cooperation of Pakistan.

Speaking at a hearing of the U.S. House of representatives General Joseph Votel termed Pakistan’s role as important for peace in Afghanistan.

General Votel said US military is seeing some “positive indicators” from Pakistan towards us concerns on militant safe havens.

He said Pak-US military relations will pave way for peace in the region.

Votel said us aims to have a relationship based on trust with Pakistan. He reported to the committee that he have frequent routine of professional communications with his Pakistani counterpart.

Votel said he aimed to develop trust worthy relationship between the two countries that would help to move forward.
