Two Hawaii men, friends for over 60 years, are celebrating a special holiday gift after discovering recently that they are actually half-brothers.

Walter Macfarlane and Alan Robinson, both in their 70s, had separately been using the same DNA matching website to dig into their family ancestries.

The results of their DNA search revealed that they shared several identical chromosomes, showing that the two life-long friends had the same birth mother.

The discovery was all the more remarkable for the fact that the two men first met in the sixth grade and were classmates at the same Honolulu prep school where they also played on the same football team.

They shared their new-found connection with family and friends during an annual Christmas party.
