Japan and South Korea have welcomed Welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s move to put North Korea back on a list of state sponsors of terrorism, saying it would ramp up pressure on Pyongyang.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said in Tokyo he welcomes and supports U.S. Designation, which goes along with Abe’s policy to put maximum pressure on North Korea.
Japan and the U.S. Agreed to raise pressure on North Korea during Trump’s visit to Japan earlier this month.
South Korea’s foreign ministry said the U.S. Move is expected to contribute to the peaceful denuclearization of the north.
The Ministry spokesman said the announcement will not change the joint stance of South Korea and the U.S. In trying to bring North Korea to the dialogue table.
