The Syrian National Dialogue conference that was scheduled to be held today in the Russian city of Sochi is postponed due to the invitation of the Kurds.

The conference is posed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the conference had invited over 30 Syrian political parties, including some Syrian Kurdish groups, to discuss the conflict within the country.

The conference was believed to be the first international negotiation mechanism that had invited Syrian Kurds since the Syrian crisis broke out.

However, the Turkish government regards the Kurdish-led Syrian democratic forces as terrorists, asserting it is not qualified to be a participant at the conference.

Although the war against terrorists in Syria is drawing to a close, it still needs time for the country to start the political process. Syrian government forces are still fighting hard against the anti-government Al-Nusra front.
