Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in Beijing, vowing to forge closer cooperation and stronger ties.

Li and Medvedev spoke highly of the sound development of the relationship between China and Russia.

Li said Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have met and had telephone conversations on a number of occasions since the beginning of this year, giving a strong impetus to the development of the bilateral relations.

Li said that Medvedev was the first foreign leader to visit China after the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China concluded and elected a new CPC leadership with xi jinping at the core and that is a full demonstration of the close and high-level relationship between the two countries.
