South Korea’s Air Force conducted its first live-fire exercise of the Taurus long-range, air-to-surface missiles, as practice for precision bombing of North Korean facilities.
Video provided by the defense ministry shows an f-15k fighter jet dropping a Taurus missile, which flew about 400 kilometers and hit the intended target.
The German-made missile has a range of 500-kilometer and a stealth function and is also capable of penetrating three meters thick ferroconcrete.
Tension are high on the Korean peninsula after North Korea’s sixth and biggest nuclear test on September 3.
The north has warned the United States that it would pay a “due price” for spearheading efforts on U.N. Sanctions, which now include a ban on the country’s textile exports and capping imports of crude oil.
