Nation is celebrating Eid-ul-Azha today with great religious fervor to commemorate sacrifice of Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) Who agreed to sacrifice his Son Prophet Ismail (A.S.) Upon Allah’s command.

The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for well-being of Muslim Ummah and safety and security of the country. 

Eid-ul-Azha teaches us the virtue of sacrifice to invoke Allah’s blessings.

Eid congregations were held at mosques, Eidgahs and open places in all cities, towns and villages across the country.

Ulema and Khateeb highlighted significance of the day and philosophy of the sacrifice. 

After offering Eid prayers, the faithful are slaughtering their sacrificial animals in remembrance of Sunnat-e Ibrahimi (A.S.). 

The meat of sacrificed animals are being distributed among relatives and the poor. 

In Islamabad, the main Eid congregation was held at Faisal Mosque where Federal Ministers, Politicians and Parliamentarians, present in Islamabad, Muslim diplomats and notables joined thousands of faithful in prayers.

Federal and provincial governments have chalked out comprehensive security arrangements to ward off any untoward incident. 

The local administrations of different cities and towns have also made special arrangements for disposal of hides and other solid waste during Eid days.

Traffic police in all metropolitan cities have devised traffic plan to ensure smooth running of traffic on the auspicious day.
