China’s second aircraft carrier has started tests on its power system while smooth progress has been made in the manufacturing process.
China began building its second aircraft carrier in November 2013. Dock construction started in March 2015.
Hu Wenming, the general director of China’s second aircraft carrier development team said that putting the ship into water marked one of the important nodes in designing and building an aircraft carrier.
Since then, the new carrier has been undergoing the equipment installation and debugging trials in the dockyard after the launch.
Upon completing the equipment installation, the aircraft carrier will enter the mooring trial process and before delivery, it will undergo multiple systematical tests.
