Qatari experts hope that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will play a mediating role in de-escalating the impasse between Qatar and its neighbors during his ongoing Gulf Tour.

Erdogan is on a two-day visit to three Gulf States, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, which started.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, as well as several other Muslim Nations including Egypt, cut off Diplomatic Ties with Qatar and imposed sanctions on the tiny Gulf Country Last Month, accusing it of sponsoring terrorism.

Doha has vehemently dismissed the claims as unjustified.

Experts said Erdogan’s visit has drawn particular attention from the outside World.

On one hand, as a member of the organization of Islamic Cooperation, Turkey enjoys close ties with Gulf Countries.
