Thousands of Police have been deployed in Hong Kong as the Territory marks 20 years since its handover to China from Britain with a series of Lavish events.

China’s President Xi Jinping also joined Celebrations.

A Flag-raising Ceremony was held at the golden bauhinia square in wan Chai of Hong Kong to celebrate the 20th Anniversary.

Accompanied by outgoing Chief Executive Leung Chun-Ying, incoming Hong Kong Chief Executive lam Cheng Yuet Ngor attended the Ceremony.

During the Ceremony, the National Flag of the people’s republic of China and the Flag of the Hong Kong Special Administrative region were raised with the National Anthem.

Helicopters had a flying-past over the harbor, where Fire Boats had turned on their Hoses in Celebration, sending arcs of Water into the Air.

In a Televised address, China’s President Xi Jinping said Hong Kong was freer than ever before but warned against “Impermissible” Challenges to Beijing’s authority.

President Xi said that any threats to the Authority of China’s Communist party government “cross the Red Line and are Absolutely Impermissible”.

He said that Hong Kong had “more Extensive Democratic rights and Freedoms than at any other time in its history”.
