Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani have agreed to use the quadrilateral coordination group as well as Bilateral Channels to take action against terror groups and evolve a mechanism to monitor and verify terror activities.
According to the statement issued by Foreign Office, both the leaders agreed that quadrilateral coordination group would be used to promote peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan during a meeting between which took place in Astana on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stressed the importance of Reconciliation and a Politically negotiated settlement as the best solution to the afghan conflict.
He highlighted the serious efforts undertaken by Pakistan for facilitating an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process.
The Prime Minister reiterated that terrorism remains a common threat to both Pakistan and Afghanistan, saying Pakistan has rendered immense human and economic sacrifices in its fight against terrorism.
The Prime Minister condemned the recent terror attacks in Afghanistan.
Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan has been hosting millions of Afghan Refugees for past 37 years, which signals its strong commitment for stable and peaceful Afghanistan.
