North Korea launched an unidentified projectile towards the Sea Of Japan from near Wonsan, Ganwgwon Province, this morning.

U.S. Pacific Command confirmed that the missile had landed in the Sea Of Japan, something that would suggest a missile launch of at least 500 kilometers East of Wonsan.

A Japanese Government Minister confirmed the missile appeared to have landed in Japan’s waters but said no damage had been caused.

South Korea’s new President, Moon Jae-In, has ordered a meeting of the National Security Council to assess the launch.
