Relief supplies are continuing as Sri Lanka continued to struggle with floods which have killed more 120 people with as many went missing.
Officials say 60,000 people in 14 of the country’s 25 districts have been affected by floods and landslides caused by early seasonal rains.
A thousand evacuation centers have been set up to help those who have had to leave their homes. Sri Lanka has appealed to the United Nations and the international community for relief goods and New Delhi has said it will dispatch a second ship with supplies.
Soldiers also deployed for relief and rescue operations and six helicopters are at work rescuing people stranded by flood waters.
The Weather Bureau says it is the heaviest monsoon rains since 2003 when the country was affected by widespread flooding.
