At least six people have been killed, including a police officer, after several gunmen wearing suicide vests stormed a national television and radio station in the eastern afghan City of Jalalabad.

Two of them detonated their explosives up at the start of the siege, but a third engaged security forces in a heavy gun battle before being killed after several hours.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group claimed responsibility for the attack.
