Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Beijing to attend the belt and road forum for international cooperation being held in Beijing on 14th and 15th of May.
The Prime Minister was accorded a warm welcome by Senior Chinese officials including the country’s ambassador to Pakistan Sun Wedong.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by a high level delegation comprising Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Khurram Dastgir, Saad Rafique adviser on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz and all four chief ministers.
The Prime Minister is attending the forum at the invitation of Chinese President XI Jinping.
The belt and road forum is part of the “Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st century maritime Silk Road” initiative launched by President XI Jinping in 2013.
The B.R.F. Is also being attended by twenty seven other heads of the states.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to address a high level dialogue.
A joint communiqué will be issued at the conclusion of the B.R.F.
The Prime Minister will be one of the three leaders to speak at the concluding session.
Besides attending the BRF, the prime minister will hold bilateral meetings with Chinese President XI Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang.
A number of agreements and M.O.U.S. Pertaining C.P.E.C. Projects are also expected to be signed at the occasion.
The Prime Minister will also hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines with several other heads of states attending the forum.
During his stay in China, the Prime Minister will visit Hangzhou and Hong Kong where he may interact with business leaders and attend investment conferences.
