Hundreds of cyclists dressed in retro fashion from their parents’ and grandparents’ generations, gathered in Central Kiev before setting out on a ride across the Ukrainian capital.

Women with intricate 1940s hairstyles and bright red lips mingled with men in tweed caps before the “Retro Cruise”.
As the retro chic bicycles lined up at St. Sophia Square, their equally stylish owners were chatting, registering for the ride and posing for pictures in the sunshine.

Many bicycles were decorated with flags and flowers, and one even had a vintage piece of leather luggage.
Cruise participants rode through Central Kiev to the park where they had traditional English brunch with tea. The festival was launched several years ago.

The cruise is Modelled after the “Tweed Run” started in London in 2009 and the Organisers said it is meant to unite people in the spirit of earlier times where culture and decorum were paramount.
