Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to United Nations has said Welfare Organizations need to play a proactive role in confronting forces of darkness and spreading Education in the Country.

Addressing a ceremony in New York, Maleeha Lodhi said Akhuwat, which dispenses interest-free Micro-Finance among needy, is playing a vital role in poverty alleviation.

Highlighting government’s social protection schemes, Maleeha said one million families are benefiting from Prime Minister’s Interest free Loan Scheme.

Pointing charity-giving culture of Pakistan, she said the highest form of patriotism is to become agents of change and help underprivileged in our society.
