Turkey is in talks with the United States and Britain to exclude Turkish Airlines and Istanbul’s main Ataturk Airport from a ban on passengers carrying electronics larger than cell phones.

Earlier the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said passengers traveling from specific airports, including Istanbul, could not bring into the main cabin devices larger than a mobile phone such as tablets, laptops and cameras.

At a briefing with journalists in Ankara, foreign ministry spokesman Huseyin Muftuoglu said that Turkey had summoned the Russian charge D’affaires to convey its unease after a Turkish soldier was killed by sniper fire from a part of Kurdish-held Syria where Russian Forces are active.
