Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi faces biggest electoral test since gaining power as polling for first phase is being held for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
Seventy three constituencies in 15 western districts of the state will go to polls in this phase.
Key districts include Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Dadri, Meerut, Ghaziabad and Agra.
The main contest is between the Samajwadi party-congress alliance, Mayawati’s BSP, BJP and RLD.
The 403-member up assembly will go to polls in seven phases.
