Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with his Afghan Counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani in Moscow regarding the peace progress in Afghanistan.

Lavrov said Russia will continue to aid Afghanistan in Military Equipment as well as maintenance. He said reaching a common understanding between Russia and Afghanistan will further speed up the peace progress in Afghanistan.

Lavrov noted that representatives from five other Nations will attend the peace talks concerning Afghanistan’s Situation, which are also set to take place in Moscow later this month.

Lavrov praised Afghanistan’s contribution to the SCO as an observer Nation and said Afghanistan’s addition to the SCO will help with the counter terrorism situation in the Afghan Region.
