At least 30 firefighters are feared dead and more casualties feared after a major commercial building collapsed following a huge fire in Tehran.

Iran’s FARS news agency and Press TV first reported that 30 people were killed, but FARS later quoted sources saying some 30 firefighters had “Most Likely” been killed and that the toll was likely to rise as 300 people were trapped in the building when it fell apart.

State television said 200 firefighters had been called to the scene around 8am. The building later collapsed during a live broadcast at 11:32am.
