ISLAMABAD . Lok Virsa is organizing a week-long training program for children on “Traditional Handloom Work” under the ongoing Craft of the Month series from December 19 to 25.
“The program aims at promoting traditional skills, giving knowledge to younger generation, specially children about the importance and utility of different crafts and providing opportunity to them to learn about Pakistan’s rich, diverse and pluralistic cultural tapestry”, an official of Lok Virsa told APP.
He said it also encourages children to value dignity of labour, fosters ownership for their culture, creates respect for different professions and character building, adding that
it helps understand the contribution of artisans in the sustainable development of their community and country at large.
Master artisans from different areas will give hands on training to children (age: 6- 14 years) for a week from 10 am to 5 pm at Lok Virsa Heritage Museum, Shakarparian.
