An Operation to evacuate a besieged rebel-held enclave in the Syrian City of Aleppo is underway.
The ICRC is bringing out 200 wounded people. A fleet of ambulances and buses was also seen heading into eastern areas as part of a wider evacuation.
People gathered around vehicles waiting at the Ramousah crossing point in Eastern Aleppo in preparation for the first evacuation of the area.
Vehicles were en route to two government-held villages under rebel siege in Syria’s Idlib province to evacuate sick and wounded residents.
The evacuation is set to take place as a fragile deal to allow the departure of civilians and fighters from the last rebel-held part of Aleppo was getting underway.
Twenty-nine buses and ambulances, and medical teams, have been sent to the besieged villages of Fuaa and Kafraya in Idlib province to evacuate humanitarian cases and a number of families.
