LAHORE: Young doctors staged a sit-in in front of Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Wednesday to pressed the government for acceptance of their demands.
Due to the protest, traffic on the Mall Road and other adjoining roads remained suspended for many hours. The closure of roads caused inconvenience for the people who stuck in traffic for hours. The participants of the protest also raised slogans for acceptance of their demands. Apart from this, patients approaching different hospitals in the city had to face great difficulties as OPD and indoor services remained suspended. Closure of OPDs on the call of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) forced many patients to visit costly private healthcare centres for treatment. Nurses and paramedics also joined the protest of young doctors which aggravated the situation for people.
