Divisional Forest Officer Syed Kamran Kazmi has said that trees not only control pollution but also increase beauty of the area , control floods and land erosion. In Pakistan forests are available over 5% of the area while as per international level forests must be over 25% of area of any country. He said this while talking to this journalist here at his office. He said that forest department is making efforts to plant more trees and during the last three months more than five lac trees have been planted while with the cooperation of an NGO one million siblings have been planted across the Attock district in private sector through farmers . He said that forest department under a new initiative has planted 3500 different siblings on both side of the Marmaki Basa Road in Jand which has been carpeted under Chief Minister Punjab Road Program.He said that similar trees will be planted on Thatti Bangoo road in Fatehjang. Kazmi said that Forest Department will make efforts for the growth and protection of these trees however he said that cooperation of the public is mandatory.
