This position is located in the Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) District 4, duty location Mount Carbon, WV. This position provides MSHA’s enforcement personnel with operational and accurate instruments. These instruments are the enforcement personnel’s primary tools for determining safety and health conditions in a coal mine environment. This position has promotion potential to the GS-6 grade level. There is no obligation to provide future promotions to you if you are selected. Future promotions are dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and supervisory approval. If selected at the GS-05 the full promotion potential is the GS-06, if selected at the GS-06 the full promotion potential is the GS-06 – This position is inside the bargaining unit. – Relocation expenses are not authorized. – Additional selections may be made from this job vacancy announcement.
