Job Summary:

This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Division of Information Assurance, branch of Enterprise Policy, Planning and Compliance, under the direction of the Departments Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), is responsible for managing the Department-wide cyber security program. This includes the review and approval of information assurance policies, standards, and guidelines; developing guidelines for system security plans; ensuring compliance with all information security related national directives and Departmental policies; and ensuring that all staff receives the appropriate security awareness training for their specific roles. These policies, standards, and guidelines are designed to protect all Department of Labor information and information systems from threats both internal and external. Information Assurance also establishes and manages the Departments Security Operations Center that is responsible for independent department wide security monitoring and coordinated incident response. The incumbent serves as an Information Security Officer (ISO) for the Department, and is considered a technical expert for the Departmental security team on information security issues, and is a recognized authority on Information Technology (IT) security policies, procedures, guidance and technologies impacting the Departments computer security program. The incumbent is responsible for information security strategic planning and development efforts in support of the Departments Cybersecurity mission. – This position is at the full promotion level. – This position is outside the bargaining unit. – Relocation costs will not be paid. – This vacancy announcement may be used to fill additional like positions. – This vacancy will close after the first 50 applications are submitted.
