Embassy’s new Defense Attaché visits Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) in Karachi

The Embassy’s new Defense Attaché, Colonel Kim Schmidt has just arrived to take up his new assignment in Pakistan.

He made his first visit to Karachi, where he met with Rear Admiral Jamil Akhtar, DG Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) to discuss the on-going partnership between PMSA and the Government of Denmark.

Col. Schmidt and Embassy’s Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Jakob Jakobsen were also invited to attend the international seminar on “Marine Pollution due to Oil Spill and its response mechanism”, where Vice Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Khan Hasham Bin Saddique was the Chief Guest.

The seminar was organized by PMSA to enhance awareness about the maritime regulations for countering oil spill in Karachi Harbor and adjoining costs among the general practitioners, decision makers and stakeholders.

PMSA is a partner of Denmark’s stabilization program and are collaborating within the areas of Search ,Rescue ,Countering and ddd14494804_1448209585196515_2050522931332732543_n at sea.
